Culture includes the organization’s vision, values, norms, systems, symbols, language, assumptions, beliefs, and habits.

It is also the pattern of such collective behaviors and assumptions that are taught to new organizational members as a way of perceiving, and even thinking and feeling.

Most entrepreneurs are driven by an overriding purpose when starting their business. Successful entrepreneurs take it one step farther and develop a vision for future growth. This vision helps guide the day-to-day operations and strategic decision-making necessary to achieve success.

Before deciding what steps are necessary to move toward your business goals, you must be very clear about your desires for yourself and your business.

Kauffman Foundation

At Leaders in print we help you to re connect with your vision, we challenge it and we work with you to communicate your desired vision and culture. Entrepreneurs have vision and leaders establish a culture in an organisation through communication and  personality.

By establishing your vision, and building a culture that reflects that vision the organisation will function on autopilot freeing the business owner to step back and think about where the business could grow and develop.

In our experience the 10  attributes of a good leader are a combination of the following:

Honesty and Integrity – Be honest at all times and tell it how it is

Ability to Delegate – Teach others so that they can do it right next time, let them learn.

Communication – Tell stories and keep everyone informed. Understand who, what, when why.

Sense of Humor – A smile can solve a million problems, break the “boss mould” once in a while.

Confidence – Believe in what you are doing – you got this far

Commitment – Keep committed and believe in the vision you have, listen to others

Positive Attitude – See the positive in every situation, a failure can be a valuable lesson learned

Creativity – Creativity isn’t just being artistic, sometimes the easy decision isn’t the best one. let people think outside the box.

Intuition -Understand the domain you are in and use the insight that you and others have gained over the years.

Ability to Inspire – Bring on your staff, show them what a great opportunity lay ahead – for everyone!

You don’t need to own the business to have these attributes, individuals can achieve these attributes and form their own inner leadership. (Or leadership within a team, department or community.)
